v1.5
DiveSafe maps documented incidents involving dive liveaboards. Each entry reports what published sources said about a specific incident, attributed to them. The site does not investigate, does not assign cause or fault, and does not publish its own conclusions about what happened.
A vessel or operator is named on this site only because a cited, published source named it. For an incident, that means a source about that specific incident. In the vessel registry, every displayed spec value carries its own citation, including directory listings, which are labelled as such. Every source shown links to the original publisher, with its publication date visible on the page.
DiveSafe does not publish risk scores, safety ratings, rankings, or incident-count leaderboards for vessels, operators, or regions, in any form. Sources that are not established news outlets or official investigations, such as forum posts or social media reports, are marked as unverified.
Wind forecasts come from Open-Meteo, and are a forecast rather than an observation: they describe expected conditions, not what a vessel actually met. Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles, built on OpenStreetMap data.
