According to Divernet and DIVE Magazine, fire broke out in the early hours of 13 March 2025 aboard the liveaboard Emperor Seven Seas, operated by Emperor Divers, while moored in Port Ghalib marina. The fire could not be contained and the vessel was a total loss. All guests and crew were evacuated unharmed and put ashore in Port Ghalib.
