According to Divernet and DIVE Magazine, fire broke out in the early hours of 21 January 2026 aboard the liveaboard Golden Dolphin III, operated by Golden Dolphin Safari World, at its mooring in Hurghada. The vessel was not on an active trip and no passengers were aboard; no injuries were reported, though the boat was a total loss. Egypt's Chamber of Diving & Water Sports confirmed the incident and said an investigation into cause was underway.
